H20 Project 2024
The Lenten H2O Project is an easy way for our entire national fraternity to take collective action for the poor who have no access to clean drinking water. During Lent, whenever you would normally buy a coffee or soda, have water instead, and put aside the money saved. Also make a note to focus on and appreciate the clean water that is so available to us, say a prayer, and think of our brothers and sisters who can only dream of clean tap water. Lent is the promotion, but contributions are accepted all year.
Sample prayer:
Lord, may I fall in love with you again, in contemplation of the stupendous miracle of creation, in which your hand is majestic and self-evident.
And may I never again take for granted a grain of soil, drop of water, or a single breath of the precious and fragile atmosphere of our sister Mother Earth, bequeathed to us in love…
Amen
“My fraternity collects cash throughout the year for the H2O
fund. We each have
a small plastic jug, and the fraternity has a large one that the money goes into.”
You can choose to give individually or collectively with your families, fraternities, or faith communities. Last year, your donations helped bring clean water to Jackson Mississippi residents during their city’s water crisis, also toward a well drilling project in Africa, sponsored by CIOFS. On behalf of those communities, thank you!
Please send all contributions to the H2O Lenten Project 2024, c/o Claudia Kauzlarich, 2007 Maverick Trail Harrisonville, MO 64701-1545. Make the check payable to OFSUSA; with H20 Project in the memo line. Thank you for your contributions!
